About the Kappa Delta Chapter

In 1997, 24 men at Virginia Tech looked around at the fraternities on campus and each saw the strengths of brotherhood, the countless social possibilities, and the many other benefits that stem from Greek Organizations. However, among the many organizations on campus, these men could not find an organization that fell in line with their common principles. Their solution was not an easy one--they knew that starting a fraternity at Virginia Tech would be a struggle, but this fact did not deter these men.

They researched many organizations and when they came across Delta Sigma Phi, they realized they found an organization that was not a stretch of their goals or morals, but a direct reflection of their own moral code of conduct. A strong brotherhood, putting emphasis on scholarship, social and athletic opportunities, and which gave back through service to the community and to Virginia Tech, are what these men formed. From 1997 to 1998 they nearly doubled in size and in 1999, less than 5 years after colonizing, they were recognized as an official chapter of Delta Sigma Phi. Less than two years after colonization, we were chartered nationally.

Today, Delta Sigs can be found actively participating in every part of university life at Virginia Tech. Our brothers are leaders in the student government, atheletes on sports teams, and scholars who excel in the classroom.
