A Letter from our Recruitment Chair
The brothers of Delta Sigma Phi live every day by the motto Better Men, Better Lives. This simple motto may not have a lot of words, but to every brother here at Virginia Tech it sure has a lot of meaning. Through the bonds that are created while being a member of this fraternity we provide you the tools to not only better yourself, but also better the people and community around you. Beginning on February 4th you will have the ability to begin your process of finding out what each fraternity has to offer on the Virginia Tech campus. As for Delta Sigma Phi, we enjoy one of the most academically prominent fraternities on campus, hold important leadership positions in numerous campus organizations, great social reputation with all sororities, athletic teams fielded in almost every sport, an award winning community service program, a philanthropy that donates thousands of dollars to the Red Cross, and a close diverse group of brothers that have each other best interests in mind. Personally, my favorite aspect of being a Delta Sig is the brotherhood of our fraternity. Delta Sigma Phi gives each brother the opportunities to not only flourish as a college student, but also to become a successful individual in the years following. Each brother has been greatly impacted by the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and every one of us would like to personally share our experiences thus far with you. I, as well as my brothers, look forward to seeing each and every one of you during Rush.

Live. Learn. Grow. Delta Sigma Phi: a brotherhood of men who promote intellectual growth, personal development, and a healthy lifestyle to its members. Delta Sigma Phi is seeking men who have the character and strong desire to support its core values. The Kappa Delta chapter of Delta Sig comprises of high-potential men who welcome the opportunity to take on new challenges in areas such as scholarship, athletics, community service, philanthropy, leadership, and social activity. Because of its focus on these areas, brothers are extremely involved in a wide variety of organizations throughout the campus and community.
Rush is a week and a half long process beginning February 4th and ending on February 18th. We will be hosting events that give you the opportunity to meet the brothers of Delta Sigma Phi throughout that period. At the end of Rush, we will host a Closed Rush invitation only event. At Closed Rush you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Kappa Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi and what we are all about. Bid Handout will take place on February 19th, which is an event where you find out which fraternities are extending you an invitation to join the organization. You have two days to make your decision and Bid Acceptance is on February 21st.
The schedule of Delta Sigma Phi's Rush Events will be posted soon. We will host events at our Chapter House, on the Virginia Tech campus, and throughout the Blacksburg community. The events will consist of anything from a cookout to a poker night to paintball. We encourage you to come to every event you are able to so you get to know as many different brothers as you can.
Pledging is a semester long process designed for you to learn everything about our fraternity and the brothers of the fraternity. Delta Sigma Phi has a strict No Hazing policy. You will make lifelong friends built on brotherhood and trust. At the end of the semester if you have met the requirements set at the beginning of the semester, you will become an initiated brother of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
